During the past 10 years I have had three disasters with my family history data on my Personal Ancestral File program. The worse was the day I filed three pages that I had printed out on a family only to discover that several years before I had had eight pages. For over a year my program had been deleting items at random as I entered new data. It took a year to coordinate two old backups and start again--not knowing what I had lost where.
